Rules

Welcome to the Pokémon Legend Dreams! Before you begin posting there are some rules you need to read and are expected to follow. Please read ALL of the rules. Anyone found breaking the rules will be punished at the discretion of the administrators. Ignoring or breaking any rules can lead to the removal of characters, expulsion from roleplaying or permanent banning.

General

Do not disrupt the forum. You should not harass, bully, annoy, insult or intentionally start fights with others. If someone asks you to stop, you need to kindly stop.

Use common sense and be courteous to all members. This includes staff members. We’re people, too! If you are being rude to anyone on the Chat or forum, you will be punished, no questions asked. I do not tolerate public disruptions on my site.

Avoid extreme chatspeak. While lol, wtf, and omg are commonly used, do not, “spk lyk ths.” (speak like this) even in OOC chat areas unless it is part of one of the games. Chatspeak is absolutely not allowed in the IC boards.

Keep it PG 13. Swearing IC is OK, just keep it to a minimum, like not saying 'fuck' every two words would be awesome. Violence, romance, drugs and other things like that are things that happen in the real world are accepted here, just keep it PG 13. Nothing too graphic.

Spamming is not allowed. Duplicate, short, or annoying posts that do not contribute to the conversation will be deleted.

Do not create multiple accounts. You are allowed multiple characters on a single account so more than one account is unnecessary.

Forum rules apply to signatures. If anything in your signature is found to be inappropriate or rule breaking it will be edited or removed.

Character Creation

Follow the character template. You may add more to it, but do not ignore anything that is already on it.

Each profile must be separately posted in their own topic. The title of the profile must be entered correctly.

• Last name, first name
  Example: Monroe, Tila
  
• If your character has a middle name, the initial goes after the first name with a period after the letter.
  Example: Monroe, Tila A.
  
• If you are still working on your profile, the put {WIP}(work in progress) in the title.
  Example: Monroe, Tila A. {WIP}
  
• All profile titles must be posted like the above to be accepted. Posting an unfinished profile is fine, if you want to save what you have and finish later.

Keep an eye on your new profiles! Staff members review profiles to make sure they are not breaking rules. If a staff member recommends you adjust the profile and you do not update it within a month, we will assume you’ve gone inactive and will permanently delete the profile.

Pokémorphs are a special case. PM the Pokémon Legend Dreams Admin account for more information.

You may not create or base your character off of any cannon characters. No characters from any movie, books, tv show or anything like that.

Your character may not start out with a preset team of Pokémon or items. Your character can have previous experience, but you start out in Terranyx with nothing.

Make an effort to be descriptive. Profiles should be detailed and in depth. A single sentence isn’t enough to tell us all about a character.

Keep your characters active. A maximum of four(4) characters are allowed per person.

Do not copy or steal information off of another character’s profile for your own. That information is copyright to the person who created them.

YOU CANNOT ROLEPLAY UNTIL YOUR CHARACTER’S PROFILE HAS BEEN APPROVED.

Roleplay

Liquid time is allowed. It enables a member to post in more than one thread at the same time. It means you're able to have multiple threads with the same character at the same time.

RP in third person, please.

Posts need to be at least six sentences long. I'm not usually strict about post lengths, but they should be detailed and give others something to reply to. Absolutely no one-liners!

Follow the three dodge rule. What does that mean, you ask? Well, it means that you may dodge with your Pokémon or your character (if they get into a fight) three times before you have to let the next attack hit. This does not mean that you may constantly dodge three times in a row, though; use common sense when following this rule.

Only Administrators and Moderators are allowed to control Wild Pokémon and other NPCs(Gym leaders, Nurse Joy, etc.). If you want someone to moderate your thread, then put {Mod} in the title.

• So, if you want your character, Tila, to encounter a Wild Pokémon in a thread and rp with Kyle, then the title should be something like this:
  Example: Thread Title {Mod, Kyle}
  
• If you want to rp with another player, but you don't care who specifically, then the title will look like this:
  Example: Thread Title {Open}

Please, please

[/i], please use spell check![/b] It's there for a reason.

Pokémon cannot speak with humans Pokémon can talk with other Pokémon but not with humans. Pokémorphs can only talk to the Pokémon they are a part of. Example: A Growlithe Pokémorph can only speak with a Growlithe, not an Arcanine or any other Pokémon.

Do not god mode, powerplay, auto-hit, or auto-kill when role playing. In essence, we mean that we don't want you to take control of another person's character. If you want Tila to punch Kyle, you should say that Tila threw a punch at Kyle, meaning that it is up to Kyle's role player whether the punch hits or misses. Also, do not make your character all-powerful. Unless you have the owner of the character being god moded's explicit consent may you do any of the above.

When a thread you are role playing in is finished, please put {Fin}, indicating it's finished, in the title. This is so that the staff knows it's over and done with and may be moved to the Archives.

Do not request a certain Pokémon to appear for your character OOC. Moderators will instead give your character exactly what you don't want. IC is fine. Tila can pine for a Eevee all she wants.

Shiny pokémon are allowed. Just like in the games, they are very, very, very rare.

You may trade your characters' Pokémon but may not trade within your own characters.

When your Pokémon is at a level where it can learn an attack or can evolve, then you may teach it that attack or have it evolve without anyone else's supervision.

Pokémon are allowed a total of six move slots. TM, HM, or lerned by evolution it doesn't matter. Just do not exceed six moves.

Evolution

Pokémon evolve the same way here as they do in the games. Such as same time/level/stones.

Eevee can be evolved into Leafeon and Glaceon using a leaf stone and a shiny stone.

Pokemon that evolve via trade or item. It is up to you to find the item needed and/or set up the trade with another player.

For Pokémon that evolve with Happiness you must own them for at least two(2) weeks real time. For every battle the Pokémon is involved in it gains +10 happiness. The rest is up to you.[/blockquote]
